Reality Shows and Mental Regression
Why our young Americans are being dumbed down? These crazy ass reality TV shows are stupidity at its highest levels. Not all are dumb as ass, but quite a few of them are. I admit, I like some of the shows myself, so I am including myself in the dumb as ass category. But, I can't get with the Real Chance for Love, For the Love of RayJ, or any of the reality shows where the men parade these desperate baby momma wannebe's in front of these hard up, masogonistic clowns who think they are a supreme catch. Ladies get a clue, or buy a freaking vowel. Don't sell yourself like a two dollar ho just to get with these shallow, no talent, D list, fake ass celebs. They are a joke, and the jokes on you for putting yourself through that mess. Get a real man and be happy with yourself because you didn't sell your soul to the devil for 15 minutes of fame.

ReplyDeleteThese shows will continue to thrive as long as they have an audience. In my humble opinion the only reality show that has the slightest hint of being productive is The Biggest Loser and even that show has some elements of drama that are not necessary.
I have a very simple theory when it comes to watching TV. Besides sports if I'm not getting anything out of it I'm not going to invest my time in it.

ReplyDeleteI often wonder what the purpose of these shows are for as well. I too am guilty of watching at times and am baffled at how these women degrade themselves just to either be in the spot light or the presence of someone with a little fame in order to catapult their careers. It just sicken me to see our women subjecting themselves to the unnecessary drama that these shows entail. I also believe that these women self esteemed is at stake and alot of them don't feel as though they have what it takes in order to break into the show business with sheer talent as opposed to just looks.
Oh well, i guess these women will learn that once your looks fade and you have absolutely nothing to fall back on that is when the REAL reality will set it.
I agree with Jim that the Biggest Loser is just about the only show that has productive life changing outcomes and makes a difference to many.
That was very profound what you said about these women. Once the looks fade and that was all you had going for you, the REAL reality will set in and they will be set up to fail by their own entrapment.
